Vista Compatible DVD Convertor/Burner

I need help finding a dvd convertor/burner software that is compatible with my Windows Vista Operating system on my laptop.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Many are not compatible and I have found out through trial and error.  Help please.
